Candles
written by Katy Durnford 7th July, 2019
Candles burn bright in the heart,
the flames dance on the wick.
The light glows across the room,
fear not for it is not all gloom!

With the light see the colours.
They sit around you.
With the glow of gold and yellow,
don’t be down, there’s a fellow!
The wax melts leaving trails.
It is very calming.
So relax my friend, it is over now.
No point to continue hexing!
The candles burn slowly on the hearth,
turn off the lights and sit in peace.
For with the wishes had now been heard,
new life and beginnings, a new lease!
Don’t ponder to their ways,
just bask in the warm glow.
Because eventually,
it will all come and be in tow!
