Meandering Stream
written by Katy Durnford 19/06/2017
Running through the valley
is a little stream.
It meanders through the hills
it’s long and windy it seams!

Sitting by the water
a duck about to lay.
Watching the sun go down
nesting in the day!
A tree with leaves gives off shade
it’s tall and like a king!
The duck lays her eggs
taking it under her wing!
Otters swim in the stream
hunting for their food.
Insects buzz in their flight,
grazing beasts watch their plight!
The stream is cool and blue.
I sit and look about.
Sitting here with you
nothing is like it – nowt!
It is breezy in the country.
The hillside just rolls and rolls.
Green and luscious it is,
till winter takes it tolls!
Walking along the stream, I hum a harmonious tune.
The time has ticked on by.
Better hurry along
as it will be dark soon!
